Built about the 18th century, local residents can remember stories of the Blacksmiths first as a farm before becoming a place for travellers passing through and stopping for refreshment for their horses and themselves.
It has been at some stage a Blacksmiths, hence the name, before finally becoming a public house where at first, ale was brought up in jugs from the cellar.
Today we are catering for travellers and locals alike with an extensive menu available lunchtimes and evenings, with a fine selection of Ales & Wine in comfortable surroundings and good company.
